Compare and contrast newscast
Every newscast has a man and a woman as the main anchors. Almost all of them have a man in the weather news section except XETV channel 5, they have a woman. Of all the weather sections in the local news channels the most entertaining one is on KUSI 9. There's this old guy named John Coleman that starts off by saying "KKKKKKKUSI" in a very funny way, and then he starts walking fast in front of the camera going across the green screen from one side to the other. Then if there's going to be good weather in the forecast, the James Brown song "i feel good" comes out in the background and if there's going to be bad weather the Daniel Powder song "bad day" is played instead. KUSI is one the few that start at 10 and end at 11:35. It also has this section called "Turko Files" in were a reporter named Michael Turko investigates local problems that local people send him and helps them get to the bottom of it. He accomplishes great things in that sometimes the city fixes the problem or pays for it.
KGTV 10, XETV 5, and KUSI 9 start at 10. KNSD 7 and KFMB 8 both start at 11 which is very convenient with me because I might be busy working on something or watching a TV show that starts at 10 and its one hour long. Out of those 2 I prefer KNSD because I'll be watching the Jay Leno show and just leave it there and then continue to see the Tonight Show. Plus I prefer seeing the news with Marty Levin because ever since I remember he has always been there and my dad met him once while he was doing a news report.
All of the local newscasts for sports have men. They all of course talk about the local teams like the chargers and the padres. Only KNSD 7 talks about soccer, the rest don't. They were the only ones who talked about the local indoor soccer team The San Diego Soccers and of the U.S. soccer team.
XETV 5' s slogan is that they are the station for balanced news and it is kind of true because they will tell you to go online and post your opinion. Then during the program they will show the post's of 2 different points of views from people that are watching the news.

What i watched on TV
State of the union
President Barack Obama started his speech by talking about the past and how we have overcome great struggles by working together as Americans. He stated that the markets have been stabilized thanks to the bailout plan but now its time help out the people of the United States. If banks had enough money to give themselves raises then they wont mind if the president proposes a fee on the biggest banks. His number one focus is a new jobs bill. 30 billion dollars will be given to community banks for small business and there will be a business tax credit. Capital gains on small businesses will be eliminated. A new high-speed railroad track will be built in Tampa, Florida. Rebates will be given in order to promote green clean energy. Slash tax breaks on companies who take jobs out to other countries. An energy and climate bill so that the environment can be protected. Export more goods, double our exports so that 2 million jobs can be created, this is all part of the National export initiative. Create an anti-poverty program with a world-class education and revitalize community colleges. There will be a 10,000-dollar tax credit for being 4 years in college and you will pay 10% of your income in loans for college. In 2011, a 3-year federal spending freeze will come in effect. In July of that same year troops will begin to come back. Troops will be out of Iraq by the end of august of this year. Finally, a US and Russia arms control treaty so that in 4 years nuclear weapons are eliminated so they don’t fall in terrorist’s hands. President Obama delivered his plans very well and in an effective manner. He seems pretty determined to accomplish his proposal.
